Professor Mallard became a hospital physicist in 1951, just as radioactivity was introduced into clinical work. He played a part in the development of medical imaging with radioactivity, now called Nuclear medicine; and this led to his pioneer advance of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, which is now a major part of modern radiology. This Lecture will show this evolution.
